Alter Simpl in Mannheim

Newly renovated, outside area with radiant heaters, delicious food, very nice service. BUT the prices have increased! Not affordable for everyone in the current situation. That was also our reason not to eat anything there last time.

After the renovation, the restaurant is very bright and friendly. The service is very good. You seldom find such good service. The food is very tasty and the size is just right. Unfortunately the spaetzle were a bit dry during my meal, the turkey schnitzel was very good.

Mega great food we had the lamb skewer and the schnitzel was very tasty and the amount was very generous. Totally nice service. The hygiene concept is consistently implemented. It's a shame that it is made difficult for such restaurateurs

Unfortunately, this great restaurant is currently under renovation. The food is a hit as in grandma's class. Please open again soon!

Really cosy typical german bar. Food is great, as the beer and the staff. It's usually really difficult to find a table so make sure to have a reservation or be ready to sit at the bar until a table is vacant.

Good food and a nice restaurant

Very good food and courteous staff. Price performance great. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the rooms. Was only in the restaurant. But I am very satisfied.

I can not rate the hotel, but in our time, where we lived right next door, we were at least once a week in the old Simpl. The food is great and the waiters are friendly and attentive. The location is perfect and you are in 2 minutes on the planks and in 7 minutes at the water tower. The prices are unbeatable and you can hardly find so full plates for such small prices! Only to be recommended!

Really cosy and friendly restaurant. The staff is kind and funny. The food was pretty good for the price you pay. Not to many vegatarian options, but there were some wich were very tasty. Definitelly would recommend coming here with friends for a fun night.

Very good German restaurant, traditional German dishes such as asparagus, Schnitzel, goulash, dumplings, spaetzle, etc. everything was very delicious and the prices are OK. The restaurant has its own charm and puts the guest in a lost time ............ The service is perfect and friendly. Should it ever come to an error this is corrected charming.

Good food, but service kkinda poor

It is a typical German restaurant serving local dishes. The portions are quite big and tasty as well. They have about 5 kinds of local draft beers and a good selection of German wines. They served my girlfriends main dish after a reasonable waiting time but they forgot mine. The extra beer I ordered also didn't come. The start was good but I left without having a main course. However, they apologised and apparently something went wrong with the orders in the kitchen. This can happen, we were offered two schnapps and they discounted two beers. The staff was overhaul friendly. I would give it another try and come back.

German cuisine. Food good, but you have to like the ambience

Food is good, price is high. Save to go on some special occasion. There are places with the same food quality for about half the price, but with worst environment.

My favorite for over 10 years. Small, quaint, great german food. Only complaint is not taking credit card from the many business visitors they get. Must have Euro card or Cash. Otherwise would be a 5.

The stake was very good and the staff is very kind. I had a grate dinner there.

I find it very cozy here. Unfortunately, the salad didn't taste particularly good (there was little salad, a lot of cabbage and carrots with yogurt dressing - unimaginative dressing). The meal was okay . Staff not particularly friendly.

Great down to earth kitchen with changing weekly menu, nice owners and there is always a great atmosphere there. The restaurant is quite small so you sit very close and comfortable with each other, but still the mood is great

We were 8 people, ordered ahead, all served at the same time. Was tasty and nicely served
